I'm a person that likes to embrace the impermanence of all things, including life itself. It's my belief that music, in particular, is meant to inspire and challenge thought and that is it meant to be enjoy purely in the moment. I like music that is of the moment, somewhat transient and is performed based on the emotion of the performer in any given moment. The same song can be played an infinite number of ways, if you think about it.
I'm a former software engineer, and am of the generation that was part of the build-out of the internet. But what the internet today no longer feels free, or honest, or empowering; I find it debilitating, invasive and small. It has been taken over by private interests and it's just fucking exhausting. So, even with all of the know-how for building out complex sites or using endless technology, I have decided to pull away from most of it and just simplify. Life is better that way. Arguably, living "online" in the modern day is not life at all but rather a never-ending slew of exploitation, attention-seeking and FOMO. It's gross.
Life is supposed to have seasons. We are not emotionally or intellectually meant to be held, permanently, to our best or worst moments. We should have room be who we are and not feel that we have to embellish or hold back because of who may see it one day. We should be free to live as a process, not an end result. We should be allowed to try out bad ideas, to fail, to succeed, and to move on. So, if you want to enjoy my music, you must know right now that what you may find anywhere recorded is NOT how my music is meant to be enjoyed. Live performance, in the moment, without recording or staring through devices, is the product. It is temporary, it is fleeting... just like life. That's what makes things beautiful. That's what makes life worth living.
